- After Vietnam closing to adoption to the U.S., we switched to Ethiopia and are now waiting for our baby boy or girl. We are approximately #66 on the list.
Adoption Timeline
- 5/22/09 Added to waiting list at #98
- 5/12/09 - Dossier all state certified. Sent to CHI!
- 3/09 - E-mailed USCIS - the change was approved end of December
- 12/16/08 Mailed Country Change Request to USCIS
- 12/4/08 DCFS endorsed our Homestudy
- 10/29/08 Home visit by new homestudy agency
- 9/30/08 Officially transferred to the Ethiopia program
- 9/25/08 Received 171-H renewal
- 8/29/08 Fingerprinted
- 8/2/08 Mailed USCIS 171-H renewal
- End of May Approved for Ethiopia, but still in the Vietnam program
- 5/12/08 Applied to Ethiopia Program
- 5/11/08 #86 on waiting list
- End of April 2008 - VN to end adoptions with U.S. 9/1/08
- 4/2/08 Dossier to Vietnam (DTV)
- 3/26/08 Received authenticated documents
- 3/17/08 All dossier documents certified
- 3/12/08 All dossier documents are now notarized
- 2/19/08 E-mail to start our dossier for Vietnam
- 5/7/07 Added to the waiting list, at this time, it's 12-15 months until referral We're #159 on the waiting list.
- 4/26/07 171-H approval
- 3/24/07 USCIS Fingerprints
- 3/23/07 Home Study sent to USCIS
- 3/2/07 Mailed I-600A
- 2/27/07 Home Visit!!
- 02/08/07 Our Individual Homestudy Appointments
- 01/16/07 1st Homestudy Appointment
- 01/06/07 Applied for Our Passports
- 12/28/06 Approved by CHI's Vietnam Program. Paid Contract & Homestudy Fees
- 12/13/06 Changing to Vietnam, waiting approval
- 12/08/06 New China Regulations Meeting Held
- 12/06/06 Approval Letter Received
- 11/17/06 Mailed agency application
- 10/19/06 Informational Meeting with CHI
